What Drill Bit Is Right For My Application?

Tool Tech Talk

"Why does Champion sell so many different types of drill bits?"

The answer is not that simple, but we are here to help.  This year, we proudly updated our website, with an emphasis on creating valuable content for our Technical Page.

Although we believe that the best way to learn about tools is to get them in your hands, we understand that is not always possible.

We promise, if you take just five minutes to read over our simple, Twist Drills Types guide, you will definitely feel more knowledgeable about these tools.

By taking into consideration the questions below, you will be well on your way to success.

Material: What material does the user need to drill through— wood, aluminum, sheet metal, steel, cast iron, stainless steel?

Application: What thickness is the material that the user is driling through? Do they need extra length to reach?

Power Tool: Is the user using a drill press, a cordless power drill, an impact driver? Different twist drills have different shank styles that work with specific power tools.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to our customer service department or your Champion sales rep with additional questions we are here to help.
